EOH Meeting Reminder

East Ohio Handweavers will meet on Saturday February 18 at 9:30 am at the Leetonia Library. We will have a guest speaker – Eileen Novotny of the Ursuline Prayer Shawl Ministry will be sharing the work they are doing. They also accept donations of acrylic yarns to make the shawls, so if you have some to donate, feel free to bring it.

After the speaker, we will share the sagas of our towels from the recent exchange…what we chose, why we chose it, what went well, what did not. No matter what they were all wonderful!

Meeting Reminder **New Date**

The next meeting of the Youngstown Area Weavers is Wednesday February 2 at 11 am in the Colonial Inn on the Canfield Fairgrounds. First Wednesday is the new day, 11 am is the winter meeting time.

The program is an open discussion of weaving repairs. If you have a problem needing fixing, a general question of technique or some advice to hand out, please come and join in the discussion. There is a lot of weaving knowledge in this group!

Since we have been snowed in recently, there ought to be some nice show & tell too…

Meeting February 13…

At 10 am at The Colonial Inn on the Canfield Fairgrounds.

This meeting is all about sharing some of our favorite tools & toys of spinning & weaving. Bring a favorite tool, something unusual, something interesting, something you cannot work without, something you cannot figure out or anything fun regarding our craft. Be ready to share stories, show off toys and maybe find something new you must have too!

We have been locked up inside with all the cold weather – there should be lots of show and tell to look at too.

Remember to sign up and send a deposit for the Rosepath Sampler workshop taught by Susan Conover in May. Share with friends! Here is the registration form: YAWG 05-2019

The Role of Women and the Purses They Carried from 1890 to Present

Every woman carries a purse of some kind. This is a little walk through the decades of women and their handbags.

Ginger Mangie, a very talented local artist is our guest speaker at the April meeting. Not only is she an entertaining speaker, she will have many examples of purses from the last hundred years. Ginger will also have examples of stitchery from various eras and purses that she herself has designed.

So grab a friend, tell anyone who may have an interest to come to the program. It promises to be a whole lot of fun!

The business meeting starts at 10 am, the program will begin by 10:30 am at the Colonial Inn inside the Canfield Fairgrounds, across from the Grandstand.
