YAWG Meeting Reminder

The Youngstown Area Weavers will be meeting Wednesday June 9 at 10 am at the Colonial Inn on the Canfield Fairgrounds.

The program for this month is leaf and flower pounding – an exuberant and stress-relieving method to imprint natural designs onto fabric. It will be taught by Julie Kerner of With Needle in Hand. She will be providing prepared fabric and there will be a kit fee of $9.

leaf pound

Bring fresh leaves an flowers from your garden – with everything blooming now we should have a lot of color – a hammer with a metal head and a wooden board or cutting board. Wear old clothes…this is a messy one!

East Ohio Meeting Reminder

The EOHW will meet on Saturday, May 15th at 9:30 at the Leetonia Library.  We will be exchanging & admiring our coverlet squares.

Also there is plenty of room to social distance at the Library and we enter through back door and hit handicap button as sometimes the door sticks – it is very Covid safe.

Meeting Reminder…Note Change

Youngstown Area Weavers will meet at 10 am on May 12 in the Ruritan Building – #23 – on the Canfield Fairgrounds. Continue past the Colonial Inn, turning right between it and the Office. The Ruritan building is on the left. This is a change only for May.

Coverlets squares will be exchanged – finally! Each should be labeled with the name of the weaver and the recipient. Mary Ann will be keeping track of the pieces to avoid confusion.

Bring your weavettes to work on again, Sheila will answer any questions & toss out more ideas for small projects.

Coverlet Update

The next meeting of both Youngstown & East Ohio will be exchanging the finished coverlet squares. Please have each square labeled with the name of the weaver and the name of the recipient.  Mary Ann will be keeping track of the exchange so everyone gets their complete set. If anyone cannot make the meetings, please contact Mary Ann or Tracy to arrange for your squares.

Meeting Reminder

Youngstown Area Weaver’s will meet on Wednesday, April 14 at 10 am in the Colonial Inn on the Canfield Fairgrounds.

We will be assembling a cute woven tree with a cinnamon stick trunk. It will make a perfect package decoration or ornament. Bring the 3 Weavette squares from last month, scissors, extra yarn for sewing and a tapestry needle to fit the yarn. Sheila will provide the trunks.

The Boundweave workshop is May 10, 11, 12. We need a final count so please let Tracy know by the April meeting if you will attend. There is no charge for this workshop.

Coverlet squares will be exchanged next month…be ready!
