We just received notice that the Christmas Marketplace is currently planning to go on. It is November 7 & 8 at the Metroplex in Girard.
Please remember that this is a large, free space for the Guilds. We can sell what we want, but must do demonstrations. It is a great opportunity to attract new members.
So if you still have time on your hands…weave something!
For those weavers who are participating in the coverlet project this year…
Gasper’s Garden is now open every day for business. It is a centralized location for drop off & pick up of yarn for the coverlet blocks. Wind the skein into 300 yard balls to exchange with the other weavers. Mary Ann will hold onto the balls and hand them out to whoever needs them to keep weaving.
I have seen several finished pattern blocks and this project is going to turn out beautifully!
It should be no surprise that the March 21 meeting of EOHG is cancelled.
Everyone be safe…
The warp thread for the coverlets has arrived! Mary Ann has it and if anyone is really anxious, it can be picked up at her house before Sunday the 2nd. She will be out of town until the 11th and will have the warp at both Guild meetings also.
For the participants in the Coverlet project…
The background thread of 10/2 pearl has been ordered. The cost was $26.50 per pound and each weaver will get about 2.5 pounds. So plan on at least $66 for that. MaryAnn will need to be reimbursed the cost. Contact her with any questions.
The weft will be Fårö 6/1 wool. The color card can be seen here: Faro colors. The actual yarn samples will be at the next meeting. Plan on getting 5 – 6 skeins for the project.
For the Scandinavian Pick-up program…
Here is a supply list, bring what you have and we can make do with what we need to. A long length of 6″ wide muslin will work as the backstrap belt until one can be fabricated.
Written instructions are in 6 files of pdf format, contact Tracy to be sent these in advance or if there are any questions.
