YAWG Meeting

The Youngstown Area Weavers will meet February 1 in the Colonial Inn on the Canfield Fairgrounds at 10 am.

Marty M will be presenting the program on spinning. “Getting the yarn you want from a multicolor braid”. She will have fiber for sampling. Please bring wheels and / or spindles, and any multicolor fiber for the group to discuss.

Roxanne will be bringing refreshments.

A tapestry weaving study group has been proposed, anyone wanting to participate let Sheila know at the meeting so details can be worked out.

November 5 & 6 Holiday show at the Metroplex – contact Sheila and let her know what days you can demo as soon as possible.

Next meeting is Nov 2, 10 am – note the change in the building, #23 Ruritan. Dues are due for 2023, $20. The program is a weavette snowman, bring a white 4″ square

Holiday luncheon is Wednesday December 7 at MCCTC, as usual. Guests are welcome, let Marilyn know if you will be attending.

Johnda Houston unexpectedly passed away recently. Flowers were sent by the Guild.

Great wheel needs a home – was used for decorative purposes only and may not have all its original parts or is usable.  It has been in a garage for the past 15 years. Contact Tracy for the owner’s details.IMG_0161

Demonstrators needed!

We still need some volunteers to demo at the Canfield Fair. The demo will be in the Arts & Crafts building on Thursday Sept 1. You can pick up your free entry ticket from Marilyn when you drop off your Fair entries. She will be working the intake in that building on both days. Also, equipment can be dropped off early and stored in the building until demo day.

EOH Meeting Date Change

No Meeting June 18!

The next meeting is a dye day on Sunday, June 26 at Mary Ann’s. Set up will be at 1:00 and last until 4:00. It will be a pot luck. Electric will be available and dye equipment and supplies for dyeing wool, silk and cottons will be on hand. Contact Monica with any questions.

Demonstrations at the Canfield Fair will be Thursday Sept 1, starting at 10 am. Contact Marilyn to sign up and get entrance passes. There is a limited number of tickets.
