The April meeting will be at Harmony Village in Columbiana at 10 am.
The program is hands-on band weaving on an inkle loom presented by Tracy Jackson. Bring a loom (if you need to borrow one, contact Tracy), flat shuttle or pick-up stick, scissors and any usual weaving tools. For threads, a pearl 3 or 5 or any yarn that is smooth and does not stretch. Tracy will be bringing instructions, material for heddles, books to look at, some finishing ideas and all other supplies. We should be able to sample a few techniques on the warp.
This is well worth the drive over to Harmony … The variety of weaving was amazing.
The April meeting will be at the Colonial Inn on the Canfield Fairgrounds at 10 am.
The program will be presented by Liz Andraso – Coiling on gourds with different materials. Liz will have the gourds prepared and will bring all the supplies. Participants should bring a pair of scissors and any 4 ply waxed linen if they have it to add to the color selection.
This was found in the Farm & Dairy – looks like it would be a great day trip to see the coverlets. Do it quick since it only runs April 1-13.
Also to put on the calendar is Focus Fiber 2019 exhibit at the Kent State Museum. It runs through July 28. Note Sunday has no admission fee.
