The Youngstown Area Weaver’s Guild was founded in 1955 to encourage weaving, spinning, dying and other cloth related fiber arts. Some of the members are also basket makers, felters, knitters and lacemakers.
The monthly meetings are usually the first Wednesday of the month at the Mahoning County (Canfield) Fairgrounds. There are short programs to get a hands on introduction of a technique or speakers to share their expertise.
There is also a 3 day workshop offered every spring for intensive work on a technique.
Guests are always welcome.
The East Ohio Handweaver’s Guild is a newer group which began as a rug weaving specialty group and expanded from there. The members are weavers, spinners, dyers, basket makers, felters, knitters and lacemakers.
The monthly meetings are the third Saturday of the month in the meeting room at the Leetonia Library. There are short programs to get a hands on introduction of a technique or speakers to share their expertise.
Guests are always welcome.
